Over the past 29 months, and as Owners Representative for two renovation projects located at 133 Jervis St., and 3998 Angus Dr., I have had the pleasure of working closely with our Architect, Neil Robertson of Stuart Howard Architects Inc., and I would like to express my sincerest appreciation for the excellent service that Neil provided.
Each of these two projects has their challenges. One was to take a 60+-year-old, 23 unit, 3-story, wood frame walk up. He converted it into s 38 unit, 4-story plus penthouse, and positioning it for higher-end rentals, and all the while adhering to the stringent Vancouver Building By-Law codes. The second was the custom renovation and addition to an early 1900’s First Shaughnessy house, taking it from 4,800sf to 8,000sf, and updating the interior to express a minimalistic but modern appearance while maintaining it’s unique First Shaughnessy character on the exterior. Throughout both projects, Neil handled the multitude of complexities, especially buildings of their era, with professionalism, vigor and an unwavering persistence to come up with solutions to seemingly impossible situations. Myself, the construction team, and the owners, always felt confident that the projects were receiving the attention they deserved – and more – with a very successful end result.
Whoever is considering Neil / Stuart Howard Architects Inc., to be a part of their construction team, I hold no reservations in recommending Neil Robertson as their prime consultant. I do look forward to working with Neil again.
